No Brexit Deal?

Artifax customers in North America and Asia-Pacific are hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres in those regions, managed by our distributors. There will be no change to those arrangements if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

However, if you are an Artifax customer in the UK or supported by Artifax directly, then you’ll be hosted in AWS’s data centre in Dublin, Ireland. You’ll be wondering how you’ll be impacted…

No Brexit Deal?

...If the UK leaves the EU in March 2019 without a deal, there would be no immediate change in the UK’s own data protection standards as the Data Protection Act 2018 would remain in place and the EU Withdrawal Act would incorporate the GDPR into UK law to sit alongside it. We would continue to be able to send personal data from the UK to the EU.

However, if the EU doesn’t make an ‘adequacy decision’ regarding the UK at the point of exit, that is, saying that personal data can be transferred to the UK without restrictions, then we will be relying on our agreement with AWS, which incorporates a data processing addendum, to enable us to receive personal data from the EU data centre.

In summary, it’ll be business as usual.
